Undoing

When the Moon catches up with the Sun in the planet of minutia, analysis, service, and care, it is expected that a certain increase in anxiety will occur. This anxiety, however, is about the unknown that takes the form of the un/expected. I explain. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet that refers to thinking, knowing, and communicating in regard to what is around, what is graspable because actual and nearby. In its manifestation in Gemini, Mercury functions as the teacher, the gathered, eager to share, to relate, convey, communicate. In its manifestation in Virgo, Mercury functions as the learner, the examiner, eager to investigate, to break apart, figure the details, and put things back together again. One could say that Mercury in Gemini has a sunny disposition while Mercury in Virgo bathes in the shadows of the Moon.
New Moon in Virgo reminds me of this (yet another manifestation of the) duality associated with Mercury for two reasons. First, this is so because, the Sun shining in Virgo asks us for introspection, to turn the analysis inward, do some self-learning not as a means towards improvement but as a way to un-learn and learn how one exists inseparably from others, as a singular whole and as/in each of its parts. Second, this is so because the Moon radiating its own (infrared) light, in an Astrological constellation associated with the Earth element, facilitates a turning inward that focuses on the what and the how of the matter that composes whatever/whomever is engaged in auto-learning/auto-teaching.
This New Moon (Sun and Moon) in Virgo is opposed to Mercury in Pisces on the Second House, and comes into effect as Jupiter and Saturn (in Aquarius) parade in a First House ruled by Saturn. That, to me, gives the sense that the auto-learning/auto-teaching allows for an emotional and intellectual appreciation of undoing, unraveling, unweaving the fabric, the threads, the molecules, atoms that compose the many layers of matter that is actual existence. At that level, in/as these deeper layers this scrutiny may expose that which is unanticipated because it constitutes the very fabric of existence and, for that reason, is not available (in spacetime) for scrutiny.
What does it have to do with anxiety? Well, of course that unraveling opens everything up to infinite possibilities. As I am following what is unfolding in Brazil, as pro-Bolsonaro crowds and their fasci-nationalist decorations take over the streets where indigenous Brazilians have been not only demanding that the Supreme Tribunal preserve Indigenous rights but also recalling colonial violence. Many, if not most, in Brazil fear that pro-Bolsonaro crowds will use violence to justify the unleashing to political violence which, in countries like Brazil, always finds its most dramatic expression on black and Indigenous persons and territories. However, and here is the un/expected, they have been also recalling that anticolonial survivance is constitutive of Brazil and, with it, the possible and actual modes of existing that do not promote or need extraction and expropriation and the total violence that facilitate them.
